It’s New Year’s Eve, and tonight I will be staying home in my pj’s ushering in the New year with this Starry Sourdough Snacking Board. I’m gladly saying goodbye to 2020 and tip toeing into ‘the 2021 unknown’ full of HOPE for a better year.
Not making a New Year’s resolution for 2021. I received that oversized package of perspective all year long and have made the reflective gradual adjustments accordingly. I’m grateful for the long look at myself and how I accept others, but I’m now at a place of gratitude and protection.
Instead of the yearly resolution I will be wishing upon all the stars in the sky for a chance to gather with my family and friends again. I will appreciate all the little things and not be so impressed with fluff that ultimately doesn’t matter. I’ll remind myself to be kind because we are all struggling and the stroke of midnight will not change our current situation, not for another few months at least. I will think of my people who are currently sick or in the hospital fighting this crazy fucking virus and hope a fast recovery is within reach. It hasn’t been easy for anyone, and I’m just so grateful to have gotten this far.
My last words for 2020…. Please stay in your casa tonight, and eat all the carbs instead of gathering with people outside of your home. Pop a bottle of something sparkling. Cry if you need to, it’ll make you feel better. It’s been the strangest most twisted low year of our lives, and we can only look up at this point. Here’s to a brighter 2021…. I hope to see and hug you soon.
