Everything seems to be wrapped up in a bow at this time of year, from presents to cookies to hair clips. A bow insinuates a gift of some sort, even if it is worn on a person’s head, in this case mine.
I couldn’t help myself…. a couple of months ago I was in sweet Bentonville, Arkansas with Walmart. As a Walmart Mom I travel there several times a year, and this time around I was there to learn about all the holiday cheer Walmart planned on providing to their customers. One of the many exciting activities Walmart plans for us is a crafting activity, where we get to choose a fun craft to take part in. This year you could make a blanket, wreath, ornament, or hair clips. It all looked interesting but for some reason the cute bow tie hair clip seemed like my cup of tea. I sat right down and got started… minutes later I had a cute bow tie hair clip in my hair (pictured above). I thought this is a great gift idea to make for friends. They sell all the supplies at Walmart, it’s so reasonably priced, and it’s a gift from the heart… The best kind. Maybe I got a little carried away, here’s what happened…. A couple of days ago I ran across my festive bow tie hair clip I had made and remembered that I wanted to make some as gifts. I ran out to Walmart to buy the stuff, and while I was there got caught up in the baking aisle looking at all the holiday sanding sugars, as I stood there I thought I should make bow tie cookies to go with my bow tie hair clips (instructions on how to make the hair clips are posted directly under cookie recipe) …. then I could have something for someone who either doesn’t have hair or doesn’t wear hair clips. Last I checked not everyone is into rocking a hair clip even if it does resemble a cute bow tie. Happy Holidays! Enjoy making little gifts for others.
